Saint Isidore, Farmer
Optional Memorial
Saint Isidore was a poor Spanish farmer born in 1070 A.D. He lived the greater part of his life in service to the wealthy landowner Juan de Vargas. Saint Isidore is remembered for his devotion to daily Mass, working as hard as three men, and his marriage to another of the Church’s saints, Maria Torribia. He is the patron saint of farmers and of the National Rural conference in the United States. [1]
